On 7 January, the sixth new generation eco-friendly 50000 DWT MR tanker “JAL SITARA,” built by YAMIC for Singaporean shipowner departed from the shipyard wharf and started her maiden voyage.

The “JAL SITARA” measures 183.00m in length, 32.30m in breadth, 19.10m in depth with design draft of 11.00m. The vessel conducted her massive steel cutting in late December 2024 and successfully completed its sea trial in mid-November 2025, with all performance indicators better than the design standards.

On 6 January, YAMIC held a grand naming ceremony for the vessel. The godmother, Ms. Shraddha Karnati, the naming sponsor, Ms. Niu Wenjue, Mr. V.C. Bothra, Managing Director of JALDHI, Mr. Suresh Kumar, CEO of JALDHI, Mr. Dimitrios Chalas, Register Foreign Shipowenrs Team Manager, Mr. Song Shuming, Deputy General Manager of YZJ Group and CEO of YAMIC, as well as representatives from all cooperation parties and employees, attended the naming ceremony.

The godmother, Ms. Shraddha Karnati named the new vessel “JAL KAVERI”, and then the naming Sponsor, Ms. Niu Wenjue, cut the string and tossed the champagne for the new vessel. Firecrackers and fireworks went off, whistles sounded. Wish the new vessel safe and smooth voyages, bringing good luck, creating wealth to the buyers, earning honor for LR and YAMIC.

On the morning of 6 January, both parties signed the delivery documents for the “JAL SITARA”, marking the successful completion of this project. Wish her a safe voyage, a full load and smooth sailing!
