The 82500DWT Bulk Carrier “MEDI HANNA” Built by YAMIC Successfully Delivered

On the afternoon of 25 August, the seventh new-generation 82500 DWT eco-friendly bulk carrier “MEDI HANNA”built by YAMIC for Japanese shipowner departed from the shipyard wharf and started her maiden voyage.

The “MEDI HANNA” has an overall length of 229.00m, a moulded breadth of 32.26m, a moulded depth of 20.15m and a scantling draft of 14.55m, and was constructed in accordance with the rules and regulations of NK. The construction period of this vessel was approximately 10 months. The vessel conducted her massive steel cutting on 24 October 2025 and successfully completed her sea trial on 25 July 2026, with all performance indicators better than the design standards.

On the morning of 25 August, YAMIC held a grand naming ceremony for the “MEDI HANNA”. The godfather, Mr. Emanuele d’Amico, Director of the d’Amico Group, Mr. Benjamin Wilkes, Chief Operating Officer of the d’Amico Group, Mr. Thor Dam Andersen, Head of Period of the d’Amico Group, Mr. Kotaro Abe, Director of Nissen Kaiun, Mr. Hideaki Omori, Executive Vice President of OMC, Mr. Hiroyuki Morita, Deputy General Manager Ship Business Div. of Mitsui & Co., Ltd., Mr. Shinya Oishi, Regional Manager of ClassNK(China), Mr. Song Shuming, Deputy General Manager of YZJ Group and CEO of YAMIC, as well as representatives from all cooperation parties and employees, attended the naming ceremony.

At the ceremony, Mr. Emanuele d'Amico, the godfather, and Ms. Hanna Abe, the naming sponsor of the “MEDI HANNA” performed the ribbon-cutting and tossed the champagne for the new vessel. Wish the new vessel safe voyages and smooth operations, bringing good luck, creating wealth to the buyers, earning honor for NK and YAMIC.

At 9:08 a.m. on 25 August, both parties signed the delivery documents for the “MEDI HANNA”. Wish her safe voyages and prosperous operations in the years ahead!
