On 21 July, the 40000CBM Type A Tank dual-fuel LPG carrier “MFM NICOLE” built by YAMIC for Japanese shipowner departed from the shipyard wharf and started her maiden voyage.

The “MFM NICOLE” is the lead of a six-vessel series. She has an overall length of 180.00m, a moulded breadth of 29.00m, a moulded depth of 19.00m and a scantling draft of 10.60m, with a design speed of 16 knots, and was constructed in accordance with the rules and regulations of NK. Steel cutting for the vessel commenced on 12 May 2025, and she successfully completed her sea trial on 14 June 2026.

The vessel is equipped with three independent prismatic Type A cargo tanks, with a total capacity of 40000 cubic metres. The minimum design cargo temperature is -50°C, and the maximum cargo density at full load is 690 kg/m³. She can flexibly carry a variety of liquefied gases, including anhydrous ammonia, propane and butane, and offers advantages such as broad cargo adaptability, strong loading capacity, and safety and reliability.

With an optimized hull design and cargo tank arrangement, the vessel can accommodate major liquefied gas terminals around the world, providing excellent operational flexibility and market adaptability. Furthermore, the vessel is equipped with an LPG dual-fuel main engine, with both the main engine and auxiliary engine fitted with SCR systems to meet Tier III standards, enabling near-zero nitrogen oxide emissions. As a medium-sized, fully refrigerated liquefied gas carrier, “MFM NICOLE” combines environmental friendliness, low fuel consumption, long endurance and excellent operational efficiency, with its overall technical performance reaching advanced industry standards.

The successful delivery of this vessel further enriches the Group’s portfolio of high-end gas carrier products, enhances the Group’s shipbuilding capabilities and market competitiveness in the field of clean energy gas carriers, and laid a solid foundation for the high-quality construction and delivery of subsequent vessels in the series. At 9:30 a.m. on 21 July, the “MFM NICOLE” was successfully delivered through the electronic signing of the delivery documents by both parties.
