On 14 November, the fifth new generation eco-friendly 50000DWT MR tanker “JAL KAVERI” built by YAMIC for Singaporean shipowner departed from the shipyard wharf and started her maiden voyage.

The “JAL KAVERI” measures 183.00m in length, 32.30m in breadth, 19.10m in depth with design draft of 11.00m. The vessel conducted her massive steel cutting in December 2024, and successfully completed her sea trial in October 2025, with all performance indicators better than the design standards. 

On 11 November, YAMIC held a grand naming ceremony for the vessel. The godmother, Ms. Puja Bothra, the naming sponsor, Mr. Anant Chand Bothra, Mr. VC Bothra, Managing Director of JALDHI, Mr Dimitrios Chalas, Register Foreign Shipowenrs Team Manager, Mr. Song Shuming, Deputy General Manager of YZJ Group and CEO of YAMIC, as well as representatives from all cooperation parties and employees, attended the naming ceremony.

The godmother, Ms. Puja Bothra named the new vessel “JAL KAVERI”, and then the naming Sponsor, Mr. Anant Chand Bothra, cut the string and tossed the champagne for the new vessel.  Firecrackers and fireworks went off, whistles sounded. May the new vessel and her crews sail safely, bringing good luck and prosperity to the shipowner, and honour to LR and YAMIC.

On the morning of 11 November, representatives from both parties signed the delivery documents for the “JAL KAVERI”. Wish her a safe voyage, a full load and smooth sailing!
