YAMIC 36000 CBM Dual-Fuel LEG carrier successfully completed

On 24 October, the third 36000 CBM Dual-Fuel LEG carrier, “GASCHEM DOLPHIN”, built by YAMIC for the German shipowner, was departed from Yamic's wharf and started her maiden voyage.

The “GASCHEM DOLPHIN” successfully completed sea trial on 30 September 2025, with all performance indicators better than the design standards. Based on the excellent performance of the previous series, this vessel further optimizes the general layout and energy efficiency design. The hull structure is compact with strong port adaptability. It utilizes three large triple-ear type C cargo tanks, maximizing cargo hold space utilization and increasing the load capacity by approximately 12%. The combination of a high-efficiency propeller and a fully suspended twisted rudder enhances propulsion efficiency, together coupled with the optimized bulbous bow and deck wind resistance design, finally achieves energy saving and consumption reduction. The liquid cargo system supports simultaneous cooling, re-liquefaction, and vapor recovery for two types of cargo. It is equipped with frequency conversion deep well pumps and an insulation system to ensure stable operation at low temperatures of -104°C. The design also incorporates features such as zoned firefighting and high-power shaft generators, further ensuring safety and green energy efficiency.

On 21 October, YAMIC held a grand naming ceremony for this vessel. The godmother, Ms. Yuriko Geshi, Mr. Hartmann, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of HARTMANN; Mr. Ulrich Adami, Managing Director of HARTMANN, Mr. Ionut Cornea, Newbuilding Director, Mr. Long Ye Fei, Area Manager of Region Greater China, Mr. Shi Xingtai, General Manager of Operations for Lloyd's Register China; Mr. Song Shuming, Deputy General Manager of YZJ Group and CEO of YAMIC, as well as representatives from all cooperation parties and employees, attended the naming ceremony.

The godmother, Ms. Yuriko Geshi named the new vessel “GASCHEM DOLPHIN”, and then cut the string and tossed the champagne. Wish the new vessel safe and smooth voyages, bringing good luck, creating wealth to the buyers, earning honor for LR and YAMIC.

On the morning of 21 October, both parties signed the delivery documents for the “GASCHEM DOLPHIN”, and the second batch of cooperation projects with the shipowner was successfully concluded.
