Naming and Delivery of 66000DWT Wide-Beam Bulk Carrier Built by YAMIC for Japanese Shipowner

On 25th June, the 66000DWT bulk carrier "THERESA BREEZE" (flying the flag of Panama) built by YAMIC for a Japanese shipowner, MURAKAMI SEKIYU CO., LTD., was successfully signed and delivered, which is the eighth vessel delivered by YAMIC this year.

In the morning, YAMIC held a grand naming and delivery ceremony for the new vessel with valued customers from MURAKAMI SEKIYU CO., LTD, Wilmar International, Mitsui & Co. Ltd., as well as representatives from all cooperation parties and employees.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Mr. Song Shuming, Deputy General Manager of YZJ Group and General Manager of YAMIC, delivered a speech on behalf of YAMIC:

Murakami for your trust; thanks to ClassNK for all your expertise and dedication; thanks to PD and your supervision team, for your tireless efforts; thanks to members from Mitsui & Co., for your consistent support, as well as all YAMIC staff who has contributed on this vessel.

2699 is the sixth vessel built by YAMIC in 66000DWT series. Comparing with conventional Ultramax, the vessel is wide beam shallow draft design, achieved larger cargo capacity, lower fuel consumption. This not only creates better economic benefits for our clients, but also aligns with the trend of energy conservation, emission reduction and environmental sustainability.

Godfather named the new vessel "THERESA BREEZE" and wished her and her crew a safe voyage, while Godmother tossed the champagne. Firecrackers and fireworks went off, whistles sounded, dragons and lions danced together to wish the new ship all the best, bring honor to the builder and good luck and wealth to the shipowner.

The president of MURAKAMI SEKIYU gave a speech and said that this vessel is the modern design bulker, he is confident that this vessel will contribute significantly to the Charterer, and also looking forward to the future cooperation with YAMIC.    

“THERESA BREEZE” was built in accordance with the rules and regulations of Class NK. This vessel commenced its first steel cutting on September 11th, 2023, conducted its keel laying on February 29th, 2024, was launched on April 22nd, 2024, and successfully completed its sea trial on June 7th, with a construction period of about 9 months.
