The successful delivery and departure of first 82500DWT bulk carrier built by YAMIC for Japanese shipowner Okouchi

On 16th May, the first 82500DWT bulk carrier “PAN CONCORD” (flying the flag of Panama) built by YAMIC for Japanese shipowner Okouchi was delivered from the shipyard and started her maiden voyage.

On 15th May, Mr. Keisuke Okouchi, President of Okouchi Kaiun Co., Ltd, Mr. Song Shuming, Deputy General Manager of YZJ Group and General Manager of YAMIC, and Mr. Shinichi Nakao, Assistant to the General Manager of YAMIC, signed the delivery documents.

On the morning of May 15, YAMIC and shipowner Okouchi jointly held a grand naming and delivery ceremony for this new vessel. The Sponsor Ms. Yuka Tachibana, Godfather Mr. Jung Sangjin, Mr. Keisuke Okouchi, President, Ms. Rie Okochi, Director of Okouchi Kaiun Co., Ltd, Ms. Kwon Hyewon, from Operation Team in Large Bulk Division of Pan Ocean, Mr. Chung Seungin, from Pan Ocean (China) Co., Ltd., Mr. Toru Hirakawa, Managing Director of Shipbroking & Services Co., Ltd., Mr. Toru Yamaguchi and Ms. Fu Zhiyan of Mitsubishi Corporation, Mr. Taizo Ito, Executive Officer, Bingo Hiroshima Regional Headquarter of Chugoku Bank, Mr. Daisuke Tagawa, General Manager of Ship Finance Center of Chugoku Bank, Mr. Masakatsu Tsuru, General Manager of ClassNK Shanghai office, and Mr. Song Shuming, Deputy General Manager of YZJ Group and General Manager of YAMIC, Mr. Yuji Ishimaru, CFO of YAMIC, Mr. Koji Tamura, COO of YAMIC, Mr. Chen Guoqiang, Vice President and Mr. Shinichi Nakao, Assistant to the General Manager of YAMIC, as well as representatives from all cooperation parties and employees, attended the naming and delivery ceremony.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Mr. Song Shuming delivered a speech on behalf of YAMIC:

We would like to extend our heartful thanks to Messrs. Okouchi for their trust and choosing YAMIC; thanks to ClassNK Mr. Tsuru, Mr. Li for all your expertise and dedication; thanks to JBL Mr. Bernie and your supervision team, for your tireless efforts; thanks to Mr. Hirakawa, for your consistent support, as well as all YAMIC staff who has contributed on this vessel, because of all your diligent efforts, wisdom and hard work, 1407 is able to be presented in front of us today. This vessel is the second Vessel we built for Messrs. Okouchi, which is also the lead Vessel of the 4th generation of YAMIC Kamsarmax. Through comprehensive optimization, this new design achieved larger cargo capacity, lower fuel consumption as well as longer endurance compared to previous generations. This not only creates better economic benefits for our clients, but also aligns with the trend of energy conservation, emission reduction and environmental sustainability. YAMIC will constantly pursue improvement of safety and quality, to build more safer, greener, environmentally friendly and better performance ships for our respected clients. Ensuring customer satisfaction is our utmost goal. We are dedicated to be one of the safest and most professional green ship builders of this beautiful planet.

The Godfather Mr. Jung Sangjin named the ship "PAN CONCORD" and wished the new vessel and its crews to sail safely, while the Sponsor Ms. Yuka Tachibana broke the champagne with a toast. Firecrackers and fireworks went off, whistles sounded, dragons and lions danced together. Wish the new vessel all the best, bringing honor to the builder and good luck and wealth to the shipowner.

Mr. Keisuke Okouchi is very satisfied with the new vessel and is looking forward to cooperating with YAMIC again. The sister ship of the new vessel will also be delivered this year, and YAMIC will continue to work hard on the experience of this vessel to deliver green and high-quality vessels that will satisfy the shipowners.

“PAN CONCORD” was built in accordance with the rules and regulations of Class NK. The vessel cut the first plate on July 4, 2023, was keel laid on December 26, 2023, was launched on March 11, 2024, and successfully completed the sea trial on April 30, with a construction period of about 10 months.
