Naming and delivery of the second 63200DWT bulk carrier “DARYA NITYA” built by YAMIC

On 30th April, the second 63200DWT bulk carrier “DARYA NITYA” (flying the flag of Marshall Islands) built by YAMIC for Chellaram, was departed from Yamic's wharf and started her maiden voyage for the operation of the owner's company.

On 29th April, YAMIC and shipowner Chellaram jointly held a grand naming and delivery ceremony for this new vessel. Godmother Ms. Preeti Amalia D'Costa, Mr. Sheriff D'Costa, General Manager of Chellaram India, Mr. Arun Kumar, Senior Vessel Manager of Chellaram Hong Kong, Mr. Yu Haigang, Technical Manager of Chellaram Shanghai, Mr. Wang Lubo, Engine Assistant of Chellaram Shanghai, Mr. Debabrata Ghosh, Manager of Site Office, Mr. Shi Yonglin, Manager of DNV Classification Society Jiangyin Office, Mr. Yasutoshi Inoue, Mr. Takayuki Kanai, Mr. Tseng Shaojia and Mr. Tian Ye of Mitsui & Co. Shanghai Ltd., Mr. Song Shuming, Deputy General Manager of YZJ Group and General Manager of YAMIC, Mr. Yuji Ishimaru, CFO of YAMIC, Mr. Koji Tamura, COO of YAMIC, Mr. Chen Guoqiang, Vice President and Mr. Shinichi Nakao, Assistant to the General Manager of YAMIC, as well as representatives from all cooperation parties and employees, attended the naming and delivery ceremony.

The ceremony started with the christening by Mr. Arun Kumar, the representative of Chellaram to celebrate the birth of the new vessel.

Mr. Song Shuming delivered a speech on behalf of YAMIC:

This vessel is the second newly designed Ultramax bulk carrier built by YAMIC for Chellaram. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Chellaram for your kind support and help, Mr. Ghosh and every one of your outstanding site team; DNV Mr. Hu, for all your expertise and dedication team; MBK Tokyo and Hong Kong for your always support. As well as all YAMIC members who contributed to this vessel, I'm very honored working with you together.

Mr. Sheriff D'Costa delivered a speech on behalf of Chellaram:

Speaking on behalf of our esteemed Chairman, Mr. Lal Chellaram, I wish to convey our gratitude to the numerous individuals who contributed tirelessly to the construction of this good vessel. From the shipyard management and workers to our partners at Mitsui & Co., DNV Class, and our diligent Chellship supervision team led by Mr. Ghosh, each played an integral role in bringing this project to fruition.

At Chellaram Shipping, we are deeply committed to environmental sustainability, an area we prioritize under the banner of green shipping. We are pleased at Darya Nitya's fuel efficiency, environmental friendliness, and its incorporation of energy-saving technologies such as pre-shrouded vanes, rudder bulb, and low friction paint. As the proud addition of our 24th vessel in the Chellship fleet, we welcome Darya Nitya with open arms.

The Godmother, Ms. Preeti Amalia D'Costa named the ship:

The Godmother, Ms. Preeti Amalia D'Costa named the ship "DARYA NITYA" and broke the champagne with a toast. Firecrackers and fireworks went off, whistles sounded, dragons and lions danced together. Wish the new vessel and its crews to sail safely, bringing honor to the builder and good luck and wealth to the shipowner.

Inside the bridge, the captain Mr. Jasraj Singh, and Mr. Parmit Sharma, Chief Engineer, performed a traditional Indian blessing ceremony to bless the new ship with the protection of the Hindu god.

“DARYA NITYA” was built in accordance with the rules and regulations of DNV. The vessel conducted its steel cutting on June 29th, 2023, was keel laid on December 10th, 2023, launched on February 28th, 2024, and successfully completed the sea trial on April 16th, 2024, with a construction period of about 10 months.

On April 29th, Mr. Sheriff D'Costa, General Manager of Chellaram India, Mr. Song Shuming, Deputy General Manager of YZJ Group and General Manager of YAMIC, Mr. Yuji Ishimaru, CFO of YAMIC, signed the delivery documents of “DARYA NITYA” on behalf of all parties in the presence of representatives of all parties. Wish her a safe voyage, a full load and a global reputation.
