50000DWT MR tanker "JAL KAILASH" built by YAMIC for Singaporean shipowner Successfully Delivered

On 29th May, the second new generation eco-friendly 50000DWT MR tanker “JAL KAILASH”built by YAMIC for Singaporean shipowner departed from the shipyard wharf and started her maiden voyage.

The “JAL KAILASH” measures 183.00m in length, 32.30m in breadth, 19.10m in depth with design draft of 11.00m. It is a new type of eco-friendly MR tanker customized by YAMIC according to customer needs. The whole construction period of vessel was about 11 months, the vessel conducted her massive steel cutting in late June 2024, and successfully completed her sea trial in mid-April 2025, with all performance indicators better than the design standards. 

At 9:38 am on May 28th, representatives of both parties signed the delivery protocol.


At 10:30, YAMIC held a grand naming ceremony for the vessel. Ms. Swati Sharma, the Godmother, Naming Sponsor Mr. Sanjay Sharma, Managing Director of Arcelor Mittal China, Mr. V.C. Bothra, Managing Director of JALDHI, Mr. Suresh Kumar, CEO of JALDHI, and Mr. Dimitrios Chalas, Foreign Ship-Owners Team Manager of Lloyd's Register China, Mr. Song Shuming, Deputy General Manager of YZJ Group and CEO of YAMIC, Mr. Yuji Ishimaru, CFO of YAMIC, Mr. Koji Tamura, COO of YAMIC, Mr. Chen Guoqiang, Vice President of YAMIC, Mr. Shinichi Nakao, CMO of YAMIC, Mr. Yang Lifeng, Assistant to the General Manager of YAMIC, as well as representatives from all cooperation parties and employees, attended the naming ceremony.

The godmother, Ms. Swati Sharma named the new vessel “JAL KAILASH”, and then the naming Sponsor, Mr. Sanjay Sharma, cut the string and tossed the champagne for the new vessel. Wish the new vessel safe and smooth voyages, bringing good luck, creating wealth to the buyers, earning honor for LR and YAMIC.
