Delivery of the 66,000DWT bulk carrier “JAL KALASH” built by YAMIC for Singapore shipowner

On November 24th, the second new generation 66,000DWT Ultramax bulk carrier "JAL KALASH" built by YAMIC for Singapore shipowner departed from the shipyard wharf and started her maiden voyage.


The vessel is the 14th vessel delivered by YAMIC this year, which conducted its first steel cutting in mid-January 2024, keel laid in late June, launched in late August, and successfully completed its sea trial in mid-October, with all the test results meeting the design standards. This vessel was successfully completed and delivered with the full cooperation of the shipowner, NK Classification Society, shipyard and other parties.


On the morning of November 22, 2024, "JAL KALASH" completed the signing ceremony.

On the morning of November 22, YAMIC held a grand naming ceremony for the vessel. Ms. Wang Haiyan, the Godmother, Mr. Pradeep Unni, Director of Apollo, Mr. Yosuke Kumura, Manager of Class NK Shanghai office, Mr. Song Shuming, Deputy General Manager of YZJ Group and CEO of YAMIC, Mr. Koji Tamura, COO of YAMIC, Mr. Yuji Ishimaru, CFO of YAMIC, Mr. Chen Guoqiang, Vice President of YAMIC, Mr. Shinichi Nakao, CMO of YAMIC, Mr. Yang Lifeng, Assistant to the General Manager of YAMIC, as well as representatives from all cooperation parties and employees, attended the naming ceremony.

Mr. Pradeep Unni cut the string and tossed the champagne for the new vessel. Firecrackers and fireworks went off, whistles sounded. Wish the new vessel and its crews to sail safely, bringing honor to the builder and good luck and prosperity to the shipowner.

Mr. Pradeep Unni, the representative of the shipowner, expressed gratitude to all parties who have made efforts for the smooth delivery of the vessel, and hopes to continue working together with YAMIC in the future to maintain and deepen the cooperative relationship based on mutual trust between the two parties.
