The 80000DWT self-unloading bulk carrier “CSL KULEANA” built for Canadian shipowner Successfully Delivered

On 29 May, the fourth 80000 DWT self-unloading bulk carrier “CSL KULEANA” built by YAMIC for Canadian shipowner departed from the shipyard wharf and started her maiden voyage.

The vessel was constructed in accordance with the rules and regulations of ABS and conducted her massive steel cutting in late April 2025, and successfully completed her sea trial in mid-April 2026, with all performance indicators better than the design standards.

On 13 March, YAMIC held a grand naming ceremony for the vessel. The godmother, Ms. Joanne Muther Jones, Mr. Louis Martel, CEO of CSL, Ms. Chantal Picard, COO of CSL, Ms. Nathalie Sykora, Chief Marine and Digital Solutions of CSL, Mr. Frederic Jauvin, VP Global Technical Services of CSL, Mr. John Bernard Johnson, CEO of JBL, Mr Song Aimin, Operations Manager China Central Area of ABS, Mr. Ji Hongfei, Deputy General Manager of YZJ Group, Mr. Song Shuming, Deputy General Manager of YZJ Group and CEO of YAMIC, as well as representatives from all cooperation parties and employees, attended the naming ceremony.

The godmother, Ms. Joanne Muther Jones named the new vessel “CSL KULEANA”. Firecrackers and fireworks went off, whistles sounded. Wish the new vessel safe and smooth voyages, bringing good luck, creating wealth to the buyers, earning honor for ABS and YAMIC.

On 29 May, both parties signed the delivery documents for the “CSL KULEANA”, marking the successful completion of this project. Wish her safe voyages with full cargoes!
