Dream sets sail, a wonderful summer with study activity
To enrich the cultural life of employees and their families, let the children get closer to their parents and learn about ship knowledge through experience, the first summer study activity for children of employees in YAMIC was successfully held on August 12th, with a total of 25 children of employees from various departments participating in the activity.
The study activity started with parents helping their children putg on safety helmets and taking parent-child photos. Subsequently, the "little shipbuilders", filled with aspirations for ships, boarded the Y2701-66000DWT bulk carrier. Liu Jiangfeng, the chief builder, led the children to visit the deck, wheel house, cabin, etc. What they had only seen on TV before was now a reality, leaving the children deeply impressed and fueling their passion for exploration.
After the ship visit, the group returned to an engaging classroom session. Chen Chang, assistant minister of Quality Assurance Department , gave a class on "Ship Class - Ship Construction Process" to the children. Using simple animations coupled with professional explanations, Mr.Chen imparted shipbuilding knowledge to the children. Then, Teacher Qian Dingting brought a lively and interesting activity class to the children.
During the fun game section, children eagerly showcased their talents on stage, performing singing, dancing, and poetry recitations.
In the afternoon, the "little shipbuilders" went to Zheng He Park. First, they visited Zhenghe's treasure ships, experiencing the charm of ancient Chinese vessels. Following that, they visited the Zheng He Memorial Museum, listening intently to the explanations and actively engaging with the docents by asking questions. They gained a profound understanding of the outstanding contributions made by the famous Chinese navigator Zheng He's seven voyages to the Western Seas to the history of world navigation and the development of world civilization.
The day concluded with a ship model DIY workshop. Each component required meticulous assembly and patience in adjustment, any slight negligence could lead to instability or aesthetic flaws in the model. This hands-on class not only honed the children's practical skills but also nurtured patience and concentration, giving them a taste of the hard work involved in "shipbuilding" by their parents.
Through this activity, employee parents expressed that the children's field visit to their workplace had not only provided them with a fulfilling and meaningful day but also conveyed the company's care and love, leaving them with a sense of fulfillment.
